CNT came into being millenia ago in the mountain ranges of Taoist China. It was used by monks in monasteries to help detoxify, strengthen and refine their bodies in order to maintain the high energy required to perform the highest levels of spiritual practices.
Chi Nei Tsang is the art of internal organs chi (energy) transformation. By working gently and directly on the abdominal organs it is possible to help release physical toxins from the body, clear emotional charges that are stored in the organs, and consequently unwind tensions that are manifesting in other parts of the body. This allows the body to return to its natural state of good health.
Chi Nei Tsang is a truly holistic therapy in that it integrates the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being through the power of touch and breath. Chi Nei Tsang's power is in its abiltiy to reach the very origin of health problems, including psychosomatic responses.
Chi = Energy / Information
Nei Tsang = Internal Organs
Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs chi (energy) transformation.”
CNT practitioners are trained in chi-kung (energy management) and work mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft and gentle touch to train internal organs to work more efficiently. Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardio-vascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, and the acupuncture meridian system (Chi).
CNT uses all the principles of Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi-Chuan known as Chi-Kung; therefore, CNT is a form of “applied Chi Kung.”
In Taoist practice it is taught that because the chi (energy) of the organs, glands, brain and nervous system converge at the navel, any blockages here can often manifest as symptoms in other parts of the body. By working on a series of points in the navel area one can unwind these tensions, releasing the flow of chi back to the organs and the rest of the body.
In Chi Nei Tsang the navel is known as the ‘original scar’: when we are babies growing in the womb, not only do we take our food in via the umbilical cord from our mother, but we also eliminate via the umbilical cord. The cellular memory of this automatically sets the navel up as the body’s major waste collection point. By working around the navel for just 10 minutes a day (which one can easily do oneself), a message is sent to the abdomen to start detoxifying and move waste out of the body.
The navel is also considered the control center for all the body’s major organs: the abdominal cavity contains the large intestine, small intestine, liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas, bladder, sex organs and major arteries, as well as many lymph nodes.
